We keep your stories private.
Storyloom is built to preserve family memories. Your stories belong to you — we collect only what's needed to make the app work, never sell your data, and never share it with advertisers.
What we collect
When you use Storyloom, we collect:
- Account information — your name and email address, used to create and identify your account.
- Stories and media — the text, audio recordings, and photos you add to your story vault.
- Usage data — basic app activity (e.g. when a story is published or a question is answered), used only to power in-app features like the activity feed.
- Push notification token — a device token used to send you notifications when new stories are added or questions are answered. Only collected if you grant permission.
How we use it
Your data is used solely to operate and improve Storyloom:
- To authenticate you and maintain your account
- To store and sync your stories across the vault you share with family
- To deliver push notifications you've opted into
- To send transactional emails (e.g. invite links, account notices)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run Storyloom:
- Supabase — our database and storage provider. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
- Resend — used to send transactional emails (invite links, account notices). Only your email address is shared.
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — used to deliver notifications to your device. Only your device token is shared.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
Your rights
You can:
- Delete any story or media you've uploaded at any time from within the app
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us
- Revoke push notification access at any time in iOS Settings
Children
Storyloom is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
